Hero Joe Horn

The lamestream media told you:

Joe Horn, a 62-year-old Texas man, was cleared by a grand jury of murder charges in the shotgun slaying of two men on his property. Horn, who loaded his shotgun while on the phone with a 911 operator, clearly said he was going to kill the young men, and then the sound of his shots were recorded and replayed incessantly, creating a controversy.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

News reports generally failed to mention that the two dead criminals, caught red-handed burglarizing Horn's neighbor's house, were in the country illegally. News media policy is to ignore or avoid the illegal immigration aspects of crimes when possible, because they believe it might expose a stereotype, create a stereotype, or is not important, though nearly everyone who reads their tripe believes it is very important. Reasons for the difference in opinion are unclear.

Texas has robust "Castle Doctrine" laws protecting homeowners and the innocent, and making things tough on home invaders even if they aren't illegal aliens committing crimes here. Horn said on tape that he knew of those laws, and the officer on the other end of the line acknowledged the laws were in place, but tried in many ways to convince Horn to do absolutely nothing and let the burglars rob his neighbor.

Traffic Stop Surprise

The lamestream media told you:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, "America's Toughest Sheriff," has been pulling over motorists for traffic violations, and then interrogating them to determine if the passengers are undocumented migrant workers. His efforts have led to the identification and deportation of countless migrants from the county's streets, driving cars with improper equipment or in violation of traffic laws.

Immigrant advocates protest the efforts, saying it amounts to racial profiling, is an unfair discrimination against immigrants, outside the Sheriff's authority, and frightens people legally in the country.

Unfortunately for the protesters, federal authorities recently cited Sheriff Joe's campaign as exemplary and a model for other agencies to copy.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

A driver was pulled over in Guadalupe, a virtually Mexican shanty town in the southern suburbs of Phoenix, for driving at night with only a single headlight. On questioning, the driver had no proof of insurance and no proof of vehicle registration in the vehicle, in addition to the broken headlight violation.

The driver complained bitterly, and publicly, claimed unfair treatment, suggested she should have been let off with only a warning, and said it was retaliation against her, and that the sheriff is racially profiling people of color, despite the dangerous broken headlamp. She asked the deputy on the scene why he works for someone "who harrasses people with brown skin."

The driver was the mayor of Guadalupe, Rebecca Jimenez. She said she'd like to end the 30-year contract with the Sheriff for providing police services (the town has no police of its own). Sheriff Joe with typical candor said he would be glad to get out of there because, "Nobody wants it."

Hiding Illegal Aliens

The lamestream media told you:

Headline, Arizona Republic: "Man suspected of impregnating 11-year-old. An 18-year-old man has been accused of having sex with a 11-year-old girl and getting her pregnant, authorities said Friday."

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

KPHO-TV version of the same story: "Illegal Immigrant Rapes, Impregnates Girl, 11. An 18-year-old illegal immigrant has been arrested in connection with the rape of an 11-year-old girl, Maricopa County sheriff's deputies said."

The Arizona Republic denies any bias or attempts to legitimize or hide illegal alien activity.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office reports the perp had been wanted in connection with a drug case.

Media pundits continue to debate why their credibility is evaporating.

Self Deportation Working

The lamestream media told you:

Xenophobic anti-immigration hardliners are proposing unworkable laws that target poor working people who just want to get ahead. The proposals, which won’t work, rely on racial profiling and can’t be fairly enforced.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

Patriotic citizens resisting tidal waves of illegal immigration (called xenophobic anti-immigration hardliners by the “news” media) are celebrating the successes of recently enacted laws, especially in Arizona, where more people sneak into the country than anywhere else.

Top federal officials are calling the Arizona deportation policy “a model” and want other states to follow. Under this program, jailed non-violent illegal immigrants are released from prison and immediately deported. The state has sent 1,443 such prisoners to ICE, saving $18.6 million since 2005. (http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/0415deport0414.html)

In other news, five tax-funded Arizona schools are set for closing for lack of students. Officials blame a new state law that severely punishes businesses that hire illegal aliens, forcing the illegals to flee. More than 1,000 students did not re-enroll in January, when the new law took effect.

Since schools get money for every pupil attending, they claim this has “cost” them millions. Actually, this saves taxpaying citizens millions, a subtle difference missed by the “news” media for unknown reasons.

Spokesmen for the illegals say this is not entirely unexpected, as the illegals are moving to states without laws designed to block them. Arizona wishes these sanctuary locations well.

State representative Russell Pearce, a leading border-protection advocate characterized as an immigration hardliner in “news” reports, says “self deportation” works, comparing it to an amusement park. “Just stop the free rides and turn off the lights and everyone leaves.”

Preposterous Border Fencing

The lamestream media told you:

Homeland Security Chief Michael Chertoff is being attacked by critics for using his authority to bypass "37 environmental-, historic- and cultural-protection laws" that stand in the way of building a partial fence along the U.S.-Mexico border.

In other news, high-tech fencing planned by Boeing and others is a complete disaster, with extensive deployments failing to operate as promised. Spokespersons have indicated it will take another three years to make the system work and get it up. Sen. John McCain called it, "a disgrace."

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

Say what? There are how many laws interfering with the defense of our border? These laws were enacted by who exactly? It's going to take how long to make a camera-and-sensor system work that physically blocks no one? What private business would tolerate a three-year delay in any project of any kind, let alone one that affects national security?

The reporter on the story above, Sean Holstege of Gannett's Arizona Republic, reports two days later that the Minutemen are on the border for their April muster, and the two groups are relaying detailed accurate information to Border Patrol agents, using store-bought walkie-talkies, and a new technological marvel called a cell phone, a sort of phone that works entirely without wires.

"The small scale operations may seem quaint," Holstege writes, "but the border groups maintain that their cameras, which transmit wirelessly to the web, have led to the arrest of hundreds of border crossers in recent months." The Border Patrol welcomes the non-intrusive, non-confrontational assistance of the citizen volunteers, according to the story. Officially, the government doesn't approve of actions it does not control, and which make it look bad.

"Federal officials said they haven't seen the volunteer cameras and couldn't comment," two obvious lies, carefully reported by Holstege.

Anyone with a fast web connection can volunteer to work the remote cameras from their homes, anywhere in the country. A similar Homeland Security plan, "Project 28," was delayed for eight months by technical glitches with satellite uplinks.

The lengthy story, full of interesting details, fails to identify how a person can volunteer, but does point out that a full Minuteman deployment on the 1,950-mile border could cost as little as $40 million, while the government system, which doesn't work, is estimated at $1.2 billion, before cost overruns, additional delays and routine snafus.

Candidates' Positions Unknown

The lamestream media told you:

"Voters Unaware of Candidates Immigration Positions: New Poll" according to a report circulated by the Associated Press.

Guest Columnist Craig Cantoni notes however that:

The headline could have read: "Voters Unaware of Candidates' Positions on Everything."

Or: "Voters Unaware of History, Economics, Law, Foreign Policy, Math, Spelling and the Foundations of Our Classical Liberal Republic."

Repeated calls for voter testing have been turned down by many of the same people who are calling for testing for gun possession.

Minutemen Spotting Many

The lamestream media told you:
The Minutemen, worthy of saturation coverage when they first began observing the borders for undocumented workers slipping into the country, must have evaporated, because there have been virtually no news reports about them for nearly a year.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
The Minutemen, in the latest of numerous ongoing campaigns, issued a status report, which is widely distributed across the web and by email to all interested parties.

"As of Sunday, the end of our first week (of this campaign), we had 146 volunteers that had signed in and pulled at least one shift. These volunteers came from all over this great nation. The following states are being represented in AZ on the border with the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps.: AZ(93), NY(3), VT(1), MA(1), ID(2), IL(1), MS(1), OK(1), IN(2), CA(4), TX(7), WA(7), AL(6), FL(6), OR(1), UT(1), NV(3), CO (4), KS(2).

"We have also been effective in supporting our United States Border Patrol. As of Sunday afternoon, Minutemen Civil Defense Corps volunteers had sighted 104 illegal aliens and the border patrol apprehended 46 of them. This comes out to 44%, which is up from years past. The Border Patrol agents have been great. Their response times have also been great."

MCDC is the original Minuteman organization, headed by Chris Simcox. Several splinter groups have also set up operations and are making similar reports, to total silence from the "news" media.

Gun Arrests Working

The lamestream media told you:
Mexican police officers came to a gun show in Phoenix and illegally bought guns for smuggling back to Mexico. Gun shows make it easy for criminals to obtain guns due to lax laws.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Proving again that we do have gun laws in this country, and that enforcement not additional statutes is what's needed, officials in Phoenix arrested Mexicans buying guns in Phoenix recently. The arrested alleged criminals are employed by the Mexican police dept. Any gun obtained for criminal purpose has been severely illegal for decades, though officials admit enforcement is spotty.

In other news, at least six discount airlines have sprung up in Mexico, offering one-way fares to the U.S.-Mexico border that rival the slow and uncomfortable bus fares immigrants used to rely on for sneaking into (or legally entering) the country. Locals have nicknamed the carriers Aero Migrante.

Mexican officials, who have pledged cooperation in resolving the border crisis, insist that their laws prevent them from determining if one-way ticket buyers from south and central Mexico plan to illegally slip into America. As undocumented immigrants such people would not be in the NICS background-check system, and might be able to buy guns here, even though it would be illegal.

Mexico prevents most gun possession within its borders except for authorities, the rich, and heavily armed para-military drug gangs that provide a significant portion of the nation's revenue.

Although gun-crime arrests have been seriously abused in the past by some authorities, gun-rights advocates typically support arresting armed criminals who are up to no good.

Immigration Law Works

The lamestream media told you:
"Migrants fleeing as hiring law nears," according to the headline in Mexico-border-state Arizona, referring to a new law that will revoke the business license of any employer found hiring undocumented migrants, also known as illegal aliens.

"A growing number are pulling up stakes out of fear they will be jobless come Jan. 1 when the law takes effect. It's impossible to count how many undocumented immigrants have fled," because they're undocumented. "At least several hundred have left," since the bill was signed, based on anecdotal interviews by immigration reporter Daniel Gonzalez.

"Immigration hard liners," a derogatory term for people who respect the nation's borders, are cheering, according to the page one Sunday report. More than 70% of the public voted to take such actions when given the chance in a recent election.

People supporting illegal immigration have loudly declared that laws to stop the invasion will not work. Now, with a single common-sense law finally on the books, they will need to adopt new arguments.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
I told you so.

Minutemen Making Headway

The lamestream media told you:
Dangerous gun-toting Minuteman vigilantes [picture of handgun in belt holster] are threatening people on our borders (2004); little news since then, almost none in 2007.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps has just released these results for volunteer border watches for illegal-alien activities:

30,000: Border sightings since program began (rounded to nearest thousand).

13,534: Intruder apprehensions from 26 countries confirmed by Border Patrol [equals 2.2 sightings per apprehension, the same rate of capture BP claims]; note that Border Patrol's official figures exceed one million captures annually for the past five years, suggesting at least one million successful illegal entries annually, yet "news" reports claim 12 million illegals are in U.S., with no change since at least 2002, which would be, what's the word, impossible.]

310: People rescued from dying in the desert, [no comment from ACLU].

750: Total watch-days during five 30-day operations in five states.

966: Total days of Minutemen on watch at the border.

100: Local chapters created in 50 states.

Plus: Minutemen on rolling watch in local communities 365 days a year 24x7

Plus: Federal amnesty legislation in Washington, D.C. defeated

And: Leading the charge -- singlehandedly made the illegal alien invasion and border insecurity a national issue.

Read the eyewitness report on what this program is really about -- nothing like what the "news" reports (be sure to check out the photos).
