Culture, Not Guns, Control Behavior

The lamestream media told you:

If America had less guns, then we would have less violence. Just look at Canada, or Japan.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

OK, let's look at Japan. It suffered the most devastating disruption a society can imagine. Look at what the culture there dictates. No looting. No looting! Everything in rubble, people desperately thirsty, hungry, ill dressed, and there's no looting! Does their monolithic, non-diverse, non-multicultural society have anything to do with that, compared with, say, Chicago, or the U.S. as a whole?

People are standing in line for five hours to get meager supplies. There's no pushing, shoving, arguments, line jumping, nothing! Nothing! They quietly behave and follow instructions. Is that because they have no guns? Or is it something else -- like their unilateral cookie-cutter society.

It is the something else factor. Guns have no direct nexus to violence. A society's willingness to engage in violence, with or without guns, is a separate matter. Warlike tribes in Africa wage perpetual war on each other, with primitive weapons. It's not the weapons. It's the people.

And in America, though no one likes to face it or say it, it's not the people. It's the people in the bad neighborhoods. Some parts of town -- shots all night long. Other parts of town -- no shots ever heard. And you know what the bad parts of town look like,  but the media will never admit it. These are not neighborhoods filled with Japanese people.

To see where the gunshots are, and what those parts of town look like, check out "Gunshot Demographics."

Is Everyone Retarded?

The lamestream media told you:

Rahm Emanuel used a word, "retarded," that is now socially banned, and he has been asked to step down from power by Sarah Palin, a FOX News commentator.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_pl1101

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

Both parties, all news commentators, Sarah Palin and the rest of the sadly brainwashed public should stop complaining about nouveau-naughty words and understand that words are just words and that's OK. Being offended by words is, well, retarded, but a personal choice people are free to make. The glorious American ideal of free speech flatly rejects the idea that some words are bad or unacceptable, and politically correct attempts to ban and manage language is an arch enemy of The American Way.

According to leading experts who refused to be identified, anyone who complains about the word retarded is retarded. And we all know some people are indeed really really retarded, even if they're smart about it.

Is Obama Lightskinned?

The lamestream media told you:

"In a discussion with authors of the book 'Game Change,' which recounts the 2008 presidential campaign, senate majority leader Harry Reid said he believed Obama would appeal to white voters because he was "light skinned" and did not speak with a "Negro dialect". Reid apologized for the comments when excerpts of the book were revealed and called President Obama, who has issued statements supportive of the majority leader," according to the Washington Post. http://tinyurl.com/ydd3rmn

A minor furor has ensued, with charges of racism, double standards and preferential treatment of the democrat power broker emerging everywhere.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

The important points here have nothing to do with double standards or racism. Of course there are double standards and racism all over this thing. Everyone knows that -- despite news reports to the contrary.

The important issue is that Harry Reid has no reason to apologize.

Harry Reid is correct.

Mr. Obama is light skinned, that's just a fact.

Mr. Obama does not speak with a Negro accent, that's just a fact.

Speaking facts is no reason for an apology and Republicans should be praising Reid for speaking the truth, not excoriating the guy. Think what THAT would do to the debate.

The Republican Party should not be demanding an apology and screaming about double standards. They should be thanking Reid for openly saying what everyone knows.

Mr. Obama is not black. He is mulatto. His mother was white. This is an important word, and though political correctness -- the underlying poison in all of this -- demands the suppression of many words, we should be able to call a spade a spade. Progressives are just too thin skinned. And too many conservatives are just too thick headed.

There are very few blacks left in America. You mostly see blacks when they are new immigrants from Nigeria or Cameroon or other nations where little racial intermixing has occurred. That's just a fact. The earthquake in Haiti has unleashed a flood of rarely seen black faces on American TV.

The well known Negro dialect, almost unintelligible to non-black ears when it is thick, is now more commonly called ebonics, a name given to it as far back as 1973. Ebonics is broadcast all day long on MTV and VH1. It is the heart and soul of rap and hip hop recordings. The grammar and usage of ebonics is simple to recognize, and Mr. Obama just does not speak it, that's just another fact.

When you reach the point when facts cannot be safely uttered, don't expect freedom to last very long. Thank goodness Harry Reid spoke the truth, and eternal damnation to those who would castigate him for it, and have forced him to recant.

Mr. Obama excused Reid, and said his choice of words was "inartful." Fine. What terms would be properly artful? Reporters failed to ask.

Perennial race-baiter Al Sharpton said it was "not the best word choice" without revealing what the best choice would be. Reporters failed to ask.

The United Negro College Fund could not be reached for comment about the Negro-accent comment. The long list of race-based groups Reid has reportedly apologized to does not include the United Negro College Fund for reasons that remain dark.

McCain Wasn't "Mistreated"

The lamestream media told you:

In a story unrelated to the House vote on waterboarding, Jim Davenport writing for the AP reports that presidential candidate John McCain "suffered mistreatment" as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

John McCain was sadistically tortured during his 5-1/2 years as a Vietnamese prisoner. His own published account reveals brutal day-long beatings, being kicked, scratched and bounced around in a concrete room, drugging, broken limbs and ribs, rifle butting, bayoneting in his foot, two years of solitary confinement and more.

The AP stands by its "mistreatment" characterization, and that waterboarding is torture and un-American. No one has been charged in the news media's mistreatment of the language or deception of the public. Yet.

The Ramadan Diet

The lamestream media told you:
Muslims worldwide followed the phases of the moon closely to determine the start and finish of Ramadan last month, the holiest time in all of Islam. Followers fast from sun up to sun down in pious reflection of their religious beliefs.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Muslim observers wonder why, with all-day fasting for an entire month, many followers find they gain weight during the holy month. It's because, having fasted all day, they party and gorge themselves after sunset, sometimes until dawn, according to Homa Khaleeli, in the Johannesburg Mail & Guardian.

Khaleeli calls it, "a meal that would put a rugby-club curry night to shame," and "most of us learn how much food we can stuff into our mouths the second the sun goes down. Gorging on sweets, chocolate, and anything else you can find is hardly the most spiritual way to end a day."

The wild indulgences in food, smoking and revelry during the evening hours got little attention in the lamestream press, apparently distracted by the sanctity of the fasting half of the holiday. Attention to the debauched side of the holiday might also be offensive if it were put into print.

Hate Crimes Blossom

The lamestream media told you:
Hate crimes are increasing at an alarming rate nationwide, according to the Associated Press in a report carried by most major lamestream news outlets.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Authorities nationwide are classifying an increasing amount of criminal activity as "hate crimes," a recently invented category of offense.

Basically, hate crime is a type of "thought crime," where a defendant's attitudes are somehow determined by authorities, to either charge that a crime has been committed, or to increase the penalty for an otherwise plain crime like armed robbery, aggravated assault, rape or murder.

Proposed in George Orwell's novel "1984," thought crime was believed to be the scary but impossible creation of a novelist. The increasing number of hate crimes being charged challenges that assumption and has alarmed right-wing alarmists.

Left-wing "civil-rights advocates" however generally support the policies, claiming their side is the victim of bad mental attitudes more often than others. Hate crimes are frequently charged in cases involving sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, sexual perversion, disability, race, ethnicity, nationality, weight, height and age, supporting their claim.

Wikipedia says hate crime is "relatively new." It then attempts to trace it back to treatment of Indians in America in the 16th Century, in what appears to be an effort to clothe the newish concept in legitimacy, and downplay its nature as a new tool of "thought police," also predicted in Orwell's novel.

The term may have been first introduced by the Justice Dept. in 1985, when it announced it was compiling "hate-crime statistics." According to the infoplease website, "The media picked up on the term and quickly began to write about an epidemic before these statistics had even been gathered."

The media reported this week that hate crimes are increasing at an alarming rate, without question. The idea that a serious crime is less of a crime because you were thinking the approved way disturbs many observers.

Intelligence Levels Vary

The lamestream media told you:
Dr. James Watson, who co-discovered the structure of DNA in 1962 1953 [See "Corrections: Small Arms, the Gun Lobby, and DNA"], retired under controversy after questioning the intelligence of Blacks and Africans in general. He expressed concern about Africa because, "all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours, whereas all the testing says not really." Saying he hopes everyone is equal, "people who have to deal with Black employees finds this is not quite true." His remarks have been denounced as racist propaganda, personal prejudice, vicious and unsupported, and he was forced to apologize.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Causing confusion in "news" outlets everywhere, another prominent scientist has challenged the widely promoted but obviously false presumption that people are all perfectly equal and that intelligence is distributed perfectly equally across the planet.

Although Nobel-prize winner James Watson referred to test results in making his statement, no "news" outlets reported on the tests, preferring to simply spew bile phrases like racist propaganda, personal prejudice, vicious and unsupported.

America, in a 200-year-old gound-breaking policy that had set it apart from all other nations, endeavored to treat all people equally under the law, even though people are individuals and never perfectly equal in any physical way. The nation continues to struggle toward that elusive goal.

In other news, racially sensitive multiculturalists are calling for an investigation into the lack of diversity on the defensive line of NFL football teams. Noting a distinct lack of Japanese players, and a ratio of black-to-white players that does not reflect the diversity of the community, a congressional investigation is being sought. Congress could not be immediately reached for a response.

Oscar Ratings Low

The lamestream media told you:
Oscar ratings continue to slide, as competition for viewer time, reduction of exclusive star status from the golden Bogie/Bacall days, non-stop overexposure of every minor scantily clad trollop, a numbing glut of awards shows and instant idol status for wannabees continue to tarnish Oscar's image.

This year's audience was up by a slight 0.004, even though the number of TV sets in U.S. homes grew.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Unmentioned in lamestream reports on the slipping ratings for the Academy Awards are the real reasons so many Americans no longer idolize Hollywood:

Hopelessly debauched and depraved films of mindless violence that depend more on effects and camera work than scripts and acting; hopelessly one-sided manipulative propaganda videos nominated and winning as documentaries years in a row (Michael Moore and now Al Gore); and hosting this year by a person who makes a mockery of American values, the American family, cares more for green Hollywood multiculti-isms than red-blooded JohnWayne-isms, and is considered by tens of millions of citizens a borderline degenerate, Ellen DeGeneris (I know I'm going to take heat for calling her "borderline").

Don't Say Queer

The lamestream media told you:
Republican Mark Foley is a very bad man and a reason for the defeat of the Republican Party at the polls in November. Even though his badness was known for a long time, no action was taken against him. Democrats generally support gayness and Republicans generally do not, though both parties have some.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
As near as is known, Mark Foley, an acknowledged homosexual member of Congress, has been found guilty of writing words that are not approved of, but has committed no conduct that would be considered against the law, with underage male pages serving in Congress.

The consequences for using unapproved “salacious” words will appear in the Uninvited Ombudsman’s next book, his 11th, on the limits of free speech, currently entitled, “Bomb Jokes for Airports.”

The Wash., D.C.-based National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association's guide to language for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community advocates against using the word “homosexual” to describe homosexuals, preferring the terms gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender, or simply GLBT. Older terms such as “fag” and “queer” are on the hate list and should never be used, the guide says.

Homosexuals may call each other fags and queers though, following the same hypocritical rules governing the “N” word for black and somewhat black people. Under these duplicitous guidelines, if you are a member of a group, you can use words that, if used by a non-member, constitute a hate crime. (NLGJA says gays have "reclaimed" these words as "self-affirming umbrella terms" but they remain "extremely offensive" for others to use.)

Isaac Asimov’s classic science fiction novels from the 1950s and 1960s often speak of things seeming queer, in the normal meaning of that word. Modern writers though have totally abandoned the word due to pressure from GLBTs (sometimes pronounced “gullbutts”).

The classic Christmas song "Deck The Halls" includes, “Don we now our gay apparel,” and the Flintstones theme says, "We'll have a gay old time," and are sung with gay abandon, though how much longer this may be acceptable is uncertain. No new material using gay or queer were known to be in the works at press time.

While the First Amendment says “Congress shall make no law,” regarding free speech, social engineers operating under political correctness have no such restriction. Some observers believe social pressure to be a far more pernicious and overarching set of rules than anything Congress can devise.

More than 400 things you’re not allowed to say are currently in the draft for “Bomb Jokes for Airports.” The book is expected out in 2007, but sometimes these things take longer than you expect.

Nearly every day, newspapers have stories about people in trouble somewhere for saying something. Look for it, it’s there.

Enigma Freezes Emails

A story detailing charges of racism against Texas gubernatorial candidate Kinky Friedman (see "Kinky Angers Blacks") used the so-called "n-word" that sounds like enigma. It turns out many email systems screen every word you receive, and block entire messages if they contain even one black-listed word, which the enigma word apparently is. Many regular Page Nine readers were therefore denied edition 15, and I apologize for my niggling ignorant oversight. I thought I was being clever, using the word "in quotes," which Afro-Americans use on cable TV constantly, but which the lamestream media carefully skirts. The story is available here.
